In short

A Brazilian company with international reach

STIB is a simultaneous interpretation company founded in 2007 in São Paulo. It serves events in virtually any country, on-site or remotely, with certified conference interpreters (including AIIC, SINTRA and ABRATES members) in more than 40 languages.

STIB was the official interpreter for Brazil's delegation at WorldSkills in four editions: UK 2011, Leipzig 2013, São Paulo 2015 and Abu Dhabi 2017. On those missions, the interpreters stayed with the delegation for the entire competition in a technical, high-pressure setting.

Formats

Three ways to cover an event in another country

On-site abroad

Interpreters and a technician travel to the event. Equipment (ISO 4043 booths, consoles, receivers or portable kits) is shipped or sourced locally.

Remote (RSI)

Remote interpreters with one audio channel per language on Zoom, Teams, Webex or a dedicated RSI platform, in any time zone.

Hybrid

An in-room audience and a remote audience hear the same interpretation. This format suits events streamed to several countries.

FAQ

International events with STIB

Does STIB work at events outside Brazil?

Yes. STIB covers events in virtually any country, with interpreter teams that travel to the venue or with remote simultaneous interpretation (RSI). The company has offices in São Paulo, Brasília and New York, and was the official interpreter for Brazil's delegation at WorldSkills in the UK (2011), Leipzig (2013) and Abu Dhabi (2017).

Which international events does STIB cover?

UN conferences such as the climate COPs, summits such as the G20 and APEC, scientific and medical congresses, international trade fairs, assemblies of international organizations, multinational board meetings, global trainings, and business and government missions.

How does interpretation for an event abroad work?

STIB agrees the languages, format (on-site, remote or hybrid) and equipment with the organizer. On-site, the interpreters and technician travel to the event, and equipment is shipped or sourced locally. Remotely, interpreters work from professional hubs on a platform with one audio channel per language.

How many languages does STIB cover?

More than 40 languages, including the six UN official languages (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish) plus Portuguese, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Turkish and others, with relay for rare combinations.

How far in advance should I book for an international event?

Six to eight weeks is ideal for events abroad because of travel, visas and accreditation. For major conferences such as COPs and summits, book as early as possible. Urgent requests can be covered remotely.
