COP31 simultaneous interpretation: your delegation understood in every language

COP31 runs from November 9 to 20, 2026 at the Antalya EXPO Center in Türkiye. The UN interprets the official plenaries. Side events, pavilions, press conferences, bilateral meetings and investor meetings all need their own interpreters. In short

What STIB does at COP31, in one sentence

STIB provides conference interpreters, simultaneous interpretation equipment and technicians for everything at COP31 outside the official UN sessions. Teams work on-site in Antalya or remotely (RSI), in Portuguese, English, Spanish, French, Arabic, Chinese, Turkish and 40+ languages.

From COP30 in Belém (2025) to COP31 in Antalya (2026) and COP32 in Addis Ababa (2027), the climate agenda is multilingual by nature. Governments, companies, development banks, Indigenous peoples, academia and NGOs negotiate and do business side by side, and the participants who communicate well with all of them get ahead.

FAQ

Simultaneous interpretation at COP31

When and where is COP31?

COP31, the 31st Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), is scheduled for November 9–20, 2026 at the Antalya EXPO Center in Antalya, Türkiye. The Blue Zone and Green Zone share the same site.

Doesn't the UN already provide interpretation at COP?

The UN interprets official sessions into its six official languages (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish). Side events, country and corporate pavilions, press conferences, bilateral meetings, investor meetings and fringe events in the city are each organizer's responsibility. That is where STIB comes in.

Can STIB send interpreters to Antalya?

Yes. STIB deploys on-site teams abroad with conference interpreters, portable systems or booths, and a technician, depending on the event format. For teams that are not travelling, STIB provides remote simultaneous interpretation (RSI).

Is there still time to book interpreters for COP31?

Contact STIB right away. Interpreters with climate experience and accommodation in Antalya are scarce close to the conference. Last-minute requests are assessed case by case, and remote interpretation is usually the fastest option.

Which languages does STIB cover at COP31?

Portuguese, English and Spanish are the most requested pairs for Latin American delegations. STIB also covers French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, Turkish and more than 40 languages in total, with relay when needed.
